Anglophone Regional Workshop on Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation (SME) of Malaria Control Programs
The School of Public Health, University of Ghana, in collaboration with MEASURE Evaluation, is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Workshop on Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation (SME) of Malaria Control Programs. This workshop aims to:
- Build skills in fundamental concepts and practical approaches to SME of malaria programs
- Discuss programmatic applications of main tools and data systems used to monitor and evaluate malaria programs
- Provide a venue for participants to share and learn from other country experiences to strengthen their SME systems
- Create an alumni group of M&E experts
Week 1 (June 24–28, 2019) will focus on the SME fundamentals of malaria programs.
Week 2 (July 1–July 5, 2019) will offer two track options held concurrently: Track 1-Malaria Surveillance and Track 2-Evaluation Methods for Malaria.
Participants are required to applied for the two-week training; only participants who have previously completed the MEASURE Evaluation SME course are allowed to apply for one of the two tracks for the second week.
This non-degree course will provide participants with knowledge in SME of malaria control programs. The course includes M&E tools, techniques, and resources needed for planning, organizing, and managing malaria programs and projects. This workshop is for national and subnational-level malaria personnel, especially those responsible for gathering, analyzing, and using program-related data. The workshop is also intended to NGO and USAID Mission personnel responsible for oversight of malaria programs, especially in the areas of surveillance, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation. Country teams are encouraged to apply.
