Join MEASURE Evaluation on March 29 at 10am EDT for a one-hour webinar on using DHIS 2 software to track mother infant pairs across the continuum of care for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV.

PMTCT programs need improved solutions for tracking clients across the PMTCT continuum of care to increase retention of mothers and their infants through the pregnancy and breastfeeding periods. To address these and other common challenges that PMTCT clinicians and program managers face, MEASURE Evaluation developed a PMTCT Tracker program on the DHIS 2 platform. The PMTCT Tracker was designed to longitudinally track mother mother-infant pairs in unison, to monitor completion of scheduled visits, and rapidly identify patients lost to follow-up.

The PMTCT Tracker does the following:

  • Monitors the mother’s transition from antenatal care to delivery
  • Links the mother and infant records to ensure that appropriate infant tracking is done
  • Monitors HIV-exposed infants while they continue to breastfeed and ensures they meet their HIV testing schedule
  • Tracks patients across different providers and facilities
  • Differentiates between clients who are lost to follow-up and clients seeking services elsewhere
  • Generates reports of patients who are overdue for visits
  • Allows monitoring of patient referrals to other clinics
  • Can send out notifications to patients when appointments are missed

This webinar will introduce the PMTCT Tracker, provide an overview of its functions and how it works, and present findings from a recent testing of the PMTCT Tracker conducted in Zimbabwe.

Register to attend the webinar.

The webinar presenters will include:

  • Cristina de la Torre, senior manager for research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), MEASURE Evaluation, ICF
  • Lwendo Moonzwe, manager for research and data analysis, MEASURE Evaluation, ICF
  • Allison Schmale, senior M&E specialist, MEASURE Evaluation, ICF
