Please join us for a Child Status Net webinar on the Community Trace and Verify tool and a participatory M&E approach, both applied in Tanzania. The discussion will be held at 10am EST on July 18th and will be led by Dawne Walker from MEASURE Evaluation Tanzania.

Overview

Community programs provide many aspects of community health support such as training, capacity building, support to households, support to individuals, home-based care, and community awareness raising. In addition, community-based programs are expected to produce comparable data to facility-based programs, but without comparable physical infrastructure and human resources. MEASURE Evaluation developed the Community Trace and Verify tool to assess if OVC are receiving the expected services and a participatory M&E approach which includes low literacy tools that help communities identify their priorities, establish progress indicators, and allow CBOs to assist with regular monitoring. Both the tool and the approach were designed to help address the data gaps and strengthen ownership of community-based programs.

Dawne Walker is the Resident Technical Advisor/Chief of Party for MEASURE Evaluation Tanzania. She has 10 years of experience in M&E for community-based programs with the past four years focusing on M&E for OVC programs. In her current work, she supports USAID Tanzania Implementing Partners in strengthening their M&E systems and is working with the Tanzania Department of Social Welfare to strengthen their national Most Vulnerable Children M&E System.
