Lessons Learned from Evaluation of OVC Programs, September 3
MEASURE Evaluation recently concluded public health evaluations of five programs that support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Kenya and Tanzania. The studies assessed program effects on improving overall well-being of OVC and their families and examined their cost-effectiveness. The studies were conducted in 2006-2007 and funded by the US Agency for International Development through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
A meeting has been planned to share the key study findings and the programmatic implications. Ample time will be provided for participants to comment and debate emerging issues, future directions, and lessons learned to OVC programming, as well as for conducting public health evaluations in general.
